I am currently working as a high school English special education teacher, which gives me the opportunity to work closely with a number of students with different needs and challenges. One of the most valuable skills that I've learned while working in special education is the importance of customizing your teaching approach. While it's commonly accepted that everyone learns differently, this is especially true for students with disabilities, which is why it's always important to adjust the way you present material and instructions based on the individual's learning style and limitations. I graduated from Montclair State University with a bachelor's in English. Not long after receiving my undergraduate degree, I enrolled in a graduate program at the same university and earned a master's in the art of teaching. I'm a professional teacher with two certifications - one in English and the other in special education. I've always enjoyed teaching and helping others, which is why I worked as a tutor and mentor while I was a college student. With the right approach to education, I believe that the classroom can be a fun and engaging experience for all pupils regardless of their learning styles or challenges. When I'm not working, I like to spend my time reading and dancing.
