Experience
I earned my master's degree in Reading, and went on to receive my Reading Specialist certification. For more than a decade now, I have been a school teacher, and I have a great passion regarding my career. I firmly believe that each and every student can be successful in their education, and understand that some students need a bit of support outside of the normal school day to get there. In my classroom, I cannot focus on each individual, though I do my best to reach all of my students. By working with students in a one-on-one setting, I am able to go beyond the classroom setting and patiently help my tutoring student using methods that work best for them individually. I am dedicated to learning each of my tutoring students' particular areas of strength and their interests, which I use to help them build up their deficiencies. I take it as my responsibility to figure out what gaps the student has, and to come up with individualized lesson plans to lead them through to success. I strive to make a connection with each student through their particular strengths and interests, and build on them. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, cooking, and running.
